[遇見 Encounter] 個展源起

[遇見Encounter]的源起,是2020年一月從中國工作回台後,遊歷“上帝的部落”司馬庫斯,遇見最大的神木Yaya Quparung (Yaya媽媽,Quparung檜木:泰雅語)。一睹巨木的風采,高聳堅毅,卻又溫柔帶領台灣巨木群森林區,守護著台灣地土

The origin of the [Encounter] exhibition was from after returning to Taiwan from work in China in January 2020, Carol traveled to the "Tribe of God" Simacus and met the largest tree, ‘Yaya Quparung’ (Yaya : mother; Quparung: Taiwan Cypress: Atayal). She got a glimpse of the majesty of this giant tree, towering, and firm, yet gently leading the forest area of Taiwan's giant trees to protect Taiwan's land.

巨木Yaya Quparung歷經千年歲月的洗鍊彰顯出上帝創造之美與智慧。霎那間,畫者被帶入了“出埃及記第三章“ 摩西在何烈山上,被焚而不滅的荊棘異象所震攝。 此時,巨木與荊棘,自己跟摩西的畫面重疊了!

這是一個多麼奇妙的時刻!上帝用祂的創造讓畫者親身經歷祂自己!

The giant tree ‘Yaya Quparung’ has been washed by rain for thousands of years, and shows the beauty and wisdom of God's creation. In an instant, Carol had a vision of "Exodus Chapter 3", where Moses was on Mount Horeb and was shocked by the vision of a burning bush that while it burned, it was not being destroyed. At this time, the giant tree and the thorns of the burning bush, and the images of herself and Moses overlapped!  What an amazing moment! God used His creation to allow Carol to experience Himself personally!

頓時,畫者理解摩西當下的心情,也理解自己的心情,Yaya Quparung重現了荊棘樹的不朽,永恆,像當年神炙熱無盡的愛,用不滅的火與光,燒不毀的荊棘樹,厚實包圍著摩西(畫者),安慰了他的心,了解他的孤寂,空虛,恐懼,害怕,!更重要的是,炙熱的光與愛,照亮了摩西(畫者)的自我形象,用全新的眼光去看待自己。被上帝無條件的愛所充滿,願意接受那份愛,不會覺得自己不配不值得!那場遇見,是再次被愛圍繞,被愛充滿!

Suddenly, Carol understood Moses' feelings at that moment, and also understood her own feelings. ‘Yaya Quparung’ recreated the immortality and eternity of the thorn tree, just like God's passionate and endless love, using immortal fire and light to burn the thorn tree, the thickness surrounded Moses (and Carol), comforted his (her) heart, and understood his (her) loneliness, emptiness, and fear! More importantly, the bright light and love illuminated Moses’ (and Carol’s) self-image, allowing him (her) to see himself (herself) in a new light. It allowed him (her) to be filled with God’s unconditional love and be willing to accept that love without feeling unworthy or undeserving! That encounter allowed Moses and Carol to be surrounded and filled with God’s love again!

 

2020年二月隨著疫情加劇,中國封城,台灣也接著宣布警戒,畫者工作隨之停擺。心慌之際化危機為轉機,參加了啟示性繪畫課程,把遇見Yaya Quparung神木的感動畫出。隨後,持續畫畫,並挑戰自己不畏畫畫技巧的限制,畫出更多的作品,學習”下載”心靈所看見的圖象。

正逢疫情快速延燒,畫者突發奇想,既然巨木成為安慰自己的圖像,便將巨木的畫作,轉化成明信片,透過台北靈糧堂益人學苑與大安區的里長合作,印製給里民們,化作祝福,穩定大家惶恐不安的心。

In February 2020, as the epidemic intensified, China locked down its cities, and Taiwan also became more controlled. Carol’s work was suspended. While her first reaction was panic, but she was able to turn the crisis into an opportunity. She took a revelatory painting course and painted the feeling of meeting the ‘Yaya Quparung’ giant tree. Later, Carol continued to paint, and challenged herself not to be afraid of the limitations of her painting skills. She began to paint more works and learned how to "download" the images that she had seen in her mind. As the epidemic spread rapidly, the artist suddenly had a whim. Since giant trees had become an image of comfort for her, she transformed the paintings of giant trees into postcards, and printed them through cooperation with Taipei GVC I-Jung Academy from Bread of Life church and in cooperation with the district chief of Daan District. The postcards where then given to local residents, they became a blessing and calmed everyone's fearful hearts.

2022年秋,遭逢疾病接踵而至,信仰是苦難中依靠的力量。畫者再次拿起畫筆,將述說不出來的苦悶,以及操練默想,禱告,或是夢境所看見的,一一紀錄畫出。她的繪畫可謂無師自通,任何媒材,不限於畫筆,只要可以表達內心深處的渴望與吶喊,都可以放在畫布上。她發現這樣的畫作,不僅自己有所獲得,同時也幫助了身邊的親友。

如今時候到了,她準備好將這樣的悸動與啟示,完整地呈現給更多的朋友們。

In the autumn of 2022, illnesses came one after another on Carol. Her faith (Christianity) was her strength to rely on in this time of suffering. Carol picked up the brush again and recorded through painting her unspeakable distress, meditation, prayer, or whatever she saw in her dreams. Her painting can be described as self-taught. Any medium, not limited to brushes, can be put on the canvas as long as it can express the deepest desires and cries of her heart. She found that such paintings not only were a benefit to herself, but also helped her relatives and friends around her.

Now that the time has come, she is ready to fully present in completion these works from her heart, and from the revelations she received from God, to more of those around her.
