The somber tones above the artwork represent the weighty gloom of real-life struggles. Boldly written in bright yellow, the word “NO” crudely rejects optimism and dances chaotically on either side of the heart. It seems to forcefully convey the internal struggle of convincing oneself, “I should actively strive upwards, towards a bright future.” Yet, I can’t manage it; I can only silently scream “NO.”

Sorrow fills the heart, and from it flows a river of painfully congealed blood, a distorted semblance of hope. Is it born from the refinement after suffering, or is it the false reality forced upon oneself after compelling optimism? I don’t know. All I can do is humbly hold onto this hope, surviving on the verge of extinction.
