I sculpt space on canvas.

I sculpt space on canvas.

In my creative process, I build up layers of oil paint, push and move the surface with a palette knife, and allow pigments to cover, collide, and overlap with one another. Through this process, gaps and layers gradually emerge between colors. The traces left by each stroke and each movement of paint slowly open up depth within the image, allowing the originally flat canvas to develop a sense of direction and spatial presence.

Painting, to me, is not merely a way of depicting the world, but a process of constructing space on the canvas.

When I create, I rarely begin with a fully predetermined composition. Instead, I follow the flow of vision and intuition, allowing the work to gradually form its own structure and resonance through constant adjustment and response. The collision, extension, and rupture of colors become a way of carving out new spaces on the canvas, inviting viewers to sense a field that can be entered, explored, and experienced.
