爭氣

「爭氣」這兩個字，對我的生命來說，有很大的影響力：無非是想要出人頭地、讓自己有能力讓家人過更好的的生活。 看起來乾淨透徹的用色，也象徵著安逸的舒適圈，而魚就象徵著人；那人正是自己。 往往在一個安逸舒服的環境和狀態下，悠遊、愜意，但往往也因為這樣，使自己無法突破，也容易被穩定的環境，扼殺了一些能力和熱血沸騰的感受。 〈爭氣〉這幅作品，有著鼓勵、勸勉的意味──在有限的生命中，為自己爭一口氣。 If I were asked to pick a word that best describe my life trajectory, I would have to settle on the word “zeal”. To me, it represents the perpetual struggle to stand out amongst the crowd in order to afford my family a more comfortable lifestyle. In my work, the use of clean and crystalline color symbolizes the serene comfort zone, and the fish represents the self. When dwelling in a comfortable and calm state, we tend to let ourselves relax and slowly grow complacent in the status quo. One’s comfort zone can drown some of our best abilities and passions. ‘Zeal’ is a work of encouragement and exhortation: in your short lifetime, never forget to be zealous.
