A Slice of Watermelon | 一片西瓜

Manto LO, graduated from the Bachelor of Visual Arts program at Hong Kong Baptist University in 2022. During this period, she visited the Mogao Cave in Dunhuang, China. The pigments used in the murals in the caves inspired Manto's creation. She specializes in the research and creation of "mineral art". Her practice presents the texture of mineral particles and explores the creation of color and surface shape by minerals.

Manto's artworks record daily life objects. Plants, landscapes, animals and ordinary daily objects can be depicted. The mineral pigments used on the works are not easy to fade, depicting these evanescent daily sights. The process of painting makes Manto as a bystander and recorder to feel the change of life. Hoping to be healed by the process of painting, and to continue creating works that can soothe people's hearts.

羅小曼，2022年畢業於香港浸會大學視覺藝術學士課程，期間曾到訪敦煌莫高窟，窟裏的壁畫所使用的顏料啟發了小曼的創作。她專注於對「礦物藝術」的研究和創作，作品呈現礦物顆粒的質感，以及探討礦物對於色面造型的營造。

小曼的藝術作品記錄日常，植物、風景、動物、普通生活物件都會是描繪的對象，用不易退色的礦物顏料描繪這些易逝的日常所見，以一個旁觀者和記錄者的角色感受生活的變化。希望從繪畫的過程中得到療癒，想繼續創作能夠撫慰心靈的作品。
